Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of buying an available home from Red Door Homes, using our Plum Creek home as an example.

Exceptional Living Amenities

As with the rest of our custom-built homes, our already available homes will come with premium living amenities both inside and outside. Here are some of the amenities that are found in our Plum Creek home as an example:

Kitchen

The kitchen, often referred to as the heart of the home, is designed to impress and function with equal prowess.

Spacious 30" upper kitchen cabinets provide plenty of storage space while maintaining an elegant aesthetic through a hidden hinge cabinet door design. The flooring, crafted from Shaw vinyl, is as practical as it is beautiful, ensuring ease of maintenance and longevity.

Our granite countertops are not only beloved for their durable and natural design but also add a touch of sophistication to the space. Within this countertop is a functional undermount stainless steel sink that comes complete with a vegetable sprayer and a high-quality Kohler faucet.

For the cooking enthusiasts and home chefs, the kitchen is equipped with a suite of top-notch Whirlpool appliances, including:

  • Overhead microwave

  • Electric range

  • Side-by-side refrigerator

  • Built-in dishwasher

Electrical & HVAC Systems

Our electrical and HVAC systems are state-of-the-art, always keeping your home comfortable and well-lit.

Our homes feature Progress satin nickel designer lighting, tailored to the specific plan of the house. The 200 amp electrical service is equipped with circuit breakers, and all bedrooms, as well as the family room, are pre-wired for ceiling fans.

The central HVAC system, powered by a high-efficiency 14 SEER Heat Pump, ensures a comfortable indoor climate all year round and comes with a reliable Honeywell thermostat.

For added safety, ground fault-protected outlets are installed in crucial areas such as baths, kitchens, garages, and exterior weather-proof outlets.

Bathroom

The bathrooms in the Plum Creek home are designed with both style and practicality in mind. Distinctive Kohler plumbing features add a touch of elegance, while the fiberglass shower and tub are designed for easy cleaning and low maintenance. The elongated comfort-height commode is installed in all bathrooms for added convenience.

Integrity cabinets provide ample storage space, and towel bars and accessories are included as per the specific house plan. Shaw vinyl flooring ties the space together, ensuring durability and ease of cleaning.

Energy Efficiency

Our homes are built with energy efficiency at the forefront. R-38 Attic insulation and high-efficiency 14 SEER HVAC equipment ensure that your home is kept at the perfect temperature without wasting energy. Vinyl-insulated high-performance windows and R-13 fiberglass wall insulation with kraft backing contribute to the home’s overall thermal efficiency.

The ductwork connections are also of a higher standard, with all holes filled with sealant to minimize air loss. To top it all off, Tyvek house wrap is used to provide an additional layer of insulation.

Exterior Features

The structural integrity of our homes begins with wood framing and an engineered truss-built roof for stability and durability. For homes with multiple stories, we implement an engineered web floor truss system to further fortify the structure.

The exterior is clad in low-maintenance Dutch lap 4.5" vinyl siding, complemented by vinyl-coated aluminum trim and vinyl soffit, providing a durable and timeless appearance. Roof venting is meticulously planned per the specific house design, and we use 30-year dimensional asphalt roof shingles for long-lasting protection.

The windows are single-hung Low-E double insulated tilt sash white vinyl with grids, including screens, combining energy efficiency with aesthetic appeal. The front door is an elegant raised 6-panel fiberglass design with a deadbolt for added security.

Additionally, a 6-panel steel fire-rated door is installed between the house and garage as per the home. For convenience, two frost-free hose bibs are located strategically around the property, and garages feature a 16' wide overhead door, pre-wired for an opener.

Interior Features

Moving inside, homeowners are greeted with interior doors, all paint grade and pre-hung in jambs with 2 1/4" MDF casing for a polished look. The base trim in all rooms is a generous 5 1/4", and spacious walk-in closets are included as per the specific plan. The subflooring is a robust and moisture-resistant 3/4" tongue and groove, glued and screwed for additional stability.

Connectivity is ensured with three cable outlets and one phone outlet strategically placed throughout the home. The laundry area is conveniently set up with recessed connections for both washer and dryer.

Brushed nickel door knobs, hinges, and locks add a touch of modern elegance throughout the home.

As for the walls, they receive one coat of tinted primer and one finish coat of paint, providing a canvas ready for personalization. To complete the interior experience, plush Shaw carpeting adds warmth and comfort underfoot.

What is the difference between a modular home and a stick-built home?

Modular homes are factory-built homes that are partially or entirely assembled in a factory and then brought onto the home site.

Stick-built homes are homes that have not been assembled in any way. These homes are constructed on-site around a stick frame and offer the option of complete customization. Many of our customers find our stick-build homes to be a quality, affordable alternative to modular homes in TN .

What is a construction loan?

A construction loan is the method of financing used when someone contracts to have a house built, as opposed to purchasing a completed home. Construction is financed in two loans: a construction loan for the period of construction, followed by a permanent loan, which pays off the construction loan.

Unlike mortgages, construction loans aren’t meant to be long term. Typically, a schedule is set up to enable funds to be withdrawn as needed to finance the various stages of construction. And, during the time your home is being built, you usually make interest-only payments on the loan.
